Young Cub wrestlers are headed to regionals

Around 270 area youth wrestlers competed at the district wrestling held at Neosho High School on Saturday, March 6.

There were a total of 23 wrestlers from Monett who placed at the meet, which qualifies them for the regional competition next weekend in Nixa.

Placing from Monett were:

* First place: Carlos Cordova, Division 3, 185 pounds; Ian Meyer, Division 4, 110 pounds; and Bo Vincent, Division 5, 130 pounds.

* Second place: Gunnar Bradley, Division 2, 60 pounds; Clayton Cordova, Division 2, 115 pounds; Ben Cole, Division 3, 150 pounds; Wes Abramovitz, Division 4, 125 pounds; and Chase Brennan, Division 5, 95 pounds.

* Third place: Joseph Semerad, Division 2, 55 pounds; Wyatt Perry, Division 2, 75 pounds; Wesley Merriman, Division 2, 85 pounds; Garrett Bradley, Division 4, 110 pounds; Kedric Brink, Division 5, 100 pounds; and Wyatt Rook, Division 5, 120 pounds.

* Fourth place: Matthew Bahl, Division 2, 50 pounds; Karter Brink, Division 2, 55 pounds; Kale Schrader, Division 2, 75 pounds; Josh Bahl, Division 3, 65 pounds; and Ashton Massardo, Division 3, 110 pounds.

* Fifth place: Timothy Ramsey, Division 2, 70 pounds; Lane Shearburn, Division 3, 80 pounds; Hunter Pyle, Division 3, 85 pounds; and Shawn Shearburn, Division 4, 95 pounds.

Participating were Cole Davis and Alex Rivera.
