Another cage fight planned in Purdy

Wednesday, March 10, 2010
The Barry County Fight Club (BCFC) will be hosting another Cage Knockout event, featuring several popular local fighters, on Friday, March 19 at the old Last Dance bar along Highway 37 in Purdy.

Doors for the event will open at 6 p.m., and the fight will begin at 5 p.m. Locals Matt McCullah, Jesse Beck and JD Hunter will be among the featured fighters. There will also be fighters from Team Alliance in Anderson and TCB from Rogers, Ark.

"This will be the only place you'll be able to see these local fighters fight," said JD Hunter, founder and manager of BCFC.

Hunter said he plans to hold fights every month or every other month to showcase local fighters. The Cage Knockout event held in Purdy on Feb. 20 attracted a crowd of over 550.

"It was a very successful event," said Hunter.

The cost to attend the Cage Knockout is $20 for adult general admission. Tickets for kids, age 13 and under, are $15.

Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance at the Barry County Fight Club.
