Springfield-Springfield Livestock Marketing Center: Cow and Bull Auction Close for 3/8/10

Receipts:  710   Last Week: 835   Last Year:  682

   Compared to last Monday, slaughter cows and slaughter bulls sold
steady to 1.00 lower. A high percent of the offering sold for slaughter
including a sizeable number of cull dairy cows. The supply of cow/calf
pairs was very light. Warmer and drier weather the last several days has
made conditions a lot better for the movement of cattle to market. The
supply was heavy and demand good for slaughter classes.
