Tornado drill postponed until March 9

The statewide tornado drill scheduled for Tuesday, March 9 has been postponed to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 11, according to David Compton, director of emergency management for Barry County.

According to Compton, the date for the drill was changed due to the possibility of severe weather on Tuesday. Compton said he checked with Andy Bailey, National Weather Service meteorologist, and there is a possibility for super cells to develop Tuesday afternoon. St. Louis initiates the statewide drill.
