Kathy Edmonds, age 58, of Monett, and formerly of Pittsburg, Kan. passed away on Friday, March 5 at her home with her loving family at her side.
|Kathy was born on July 25, 1951, in Spencer, Iowa, the daughter of Wesley Batcheler and Jessie (Reed) Batcheler.||She graduated from Spencer High School in 1969 and had attended Ft. Scott Community College and Pittsburg State University.||After moving to Monett, Kathy worked for Jack Henry and Associates. Kathy had a great love for her family and for life. She also loved collecting Princess House. She was a member of the Eastern Star, the White Shrine and the First Christian Church.|
|On December 26, 1971, Samuel Edmonds and Kathy Batcheler were united in marriage. He preceded her in death on August 3, 2005. Also preceding her in death was her mother, Jessie Batcheler.||Kathy is survived by two sons: Thomas Edmonds and his wife, Lanelle, of Kansas City; and Nathan Edmonds and his wife, Shannon, of Orange, Calif; her father: Wesley Batcheler, of Bronaugh, Mo.; one brother: Dennis Batcheler and his wife, Patty, of Bronaugh, Mo.; one sister: Karen Anderson and her husband, Mike, of Grants Pass, Ore.; three grandchildren: Miette Edmonds, Torsten Edmonds and Grant Edmonds; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.|
Kathy will be deeply and sorely missed by all that knew her.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 8 at the First Christian Church in Monett. Pastors Bill Skaggs and Ron Stair will officiate. Interment will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday in the Sunny Slopes Cemetery in Blue Mound, Kan.
|The family will receive friends for visitation at the Buchanan Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, March 7 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.||Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett.|
