Donald Eugene Witt, age 66, died early in the morning on Friday, Feb. 26, at Cox Monett Hospital. His family was comforted that he left us in peace.

A Biblical Wake Service will be held at St. Mary's Church, in Pierce City, at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 28th. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Church at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March, 1.

Donald Eugene Witt was born to Clara (Gulupski) and Lawrence A. Witt on Jan. 9, 1944. He graduated Pierce City High School in 1961. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He then returned home and worked at Wells Aluminum for 27 years eventually becoming plant manager. Upon retirement he enjoyed playing a crucial role in the restoration of Jolly Mill and volunteering at the Harbor House in Springfield, Missouri.

He is survived by his daughter: Bonnie Schulte and husband, Bill, and their children: Caleb, Si, and Lanese; daughter: Melinda Drollinger and her husband Greg, and their children: Colton, Kenzie, and Emily; son: Lawrence (Jamie) Witt and his wife April, and their child: Lawrence James; son: Russell Witt and his wife Debbie, and their child: Paden; and son: Ryan Witt and his wife Thuy.

He will be missed by all for his kind heartedness, generosity and genuine love for family.
