Joplin Regional Stockyards: Cow and Bull Auction Close for 2/24/10

   Compared to last Wednesday, slaughter cows and slaughter bulls sold
steady to 1.00 lower with some high-dressing individuals 2.00 lower. Old
man winter continues to have a cold grip on the area today. Several large
groups of cows from a couple farms provided some extra good quality re-
placement cows. Supply was moderate and demand good for slaughter classes.

and 3rd stage 1045-1365 lbs most 650.00-875.00, several large lots black
and black white face from one farm 950.00-1110.00, 1st stage 1080-1300 lbs
650.00-700.00; short and solid mouth to aged 2nd and 3rd stage few 1200-
1250 lbs 560.00-585.00. Large 1-2  2-6 yrs 2nd 3rd stage 1360-1500 lbs

yrs to short and solid mouth 1400-1485 lb cows w/160-290 lb calves and a
few rebred 850.00-1000.00. Medium and Large 2  3-7 yrs 1175-1200 lb cows
w/babies to 145 lb calves 675.00-825.00. Medium 1-2  aged 900 lb cow w/
160 lb calf 525.00.
