Purdy girls win, boys fall to teams from TJ

The Purdy Lady Eagles picked up an 84-15 road win over Thomas Jefferson last night while the Purdy boys fell 71-36.

The Lady Eagles led throughout the game and enjoyed very balanced scoring with four players leading the way. Brooke Swadley had a team high 18 points while Addy Roller put up 17 points. Audrey Patton and Shelby White both contributed 14 points.

Other Purdy scorers were: Mattie White 6; Shelby Scott 5; Chelsea Martin 5; Brittany Mareth 3; and Bailey Spears 2.

Thomas Jefferson was led by Sally Currence's 6 points.

Boys action

The Purdy boys suffered a different fate against their hosts. The Eagles managed to stay close to a talented TJ squad, trailing only 26-18 at halftime. The gap widened in the final two quarters as the Cavaliers tallied 45 points while limiting Purdy to 18.

Landon Terry was the Eagles' leading scorer with 12 points. Others adding to the point total were: Cody Hall 9; Kevin Miller 8; and Devon Bennett 5.

Jordan Stauffer was Thomas Jefferson's top scorer with 18 points.
