Springfield-Springfield Livestock Marketing Center: Cow and Bull Auction Close for 2/22/10

   Compared last Monday, breaking and boning slaughter cows sold 1.00-2.00
lower while lean cows sold steady and slaughter bulls sold 1.00 higher. Cull
dairy cows made up a high percent of the slaughter cow offering. Measureable
rains across much of the area yesterday continues to make mud a major factor
to be dealt with when feeding and moving cattle. The supply of bred cows was
light and only a few cow/calf pairs were traded. The supply was moderate and
demand good for slaughter classes.
