Thomas Jerrell Ray, 83, of Monett, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, at Lacoba Nursing Center in Monett.
He was born on Jan. 19, 1927, in Logan, to William Goebel and Lunda (Gideon) Ray. He was united in marriage to Doris Seely on Feb. 16, 1951. She passed away in May of 1991. Thomas then married Willadean Etter Bradford on June 29, 1992 and she survives.
Mr. Ray had retired from a sales position with Thomas Concrete Company of Oklahoma City. He served in the Coast Guard during WWII and he attended Waldensian Presbyterian Church in Monett.
Thomas is survived by his wife, along with one son: Thomas J. Ray Jr. and his wife, Linda, of Barnhart; and one sister: Betty Mae Matthews, of Springfield; and two grandsons: David and Daniel Ray.
Mr. Ray was preceded in death by his brother, Laverne Ray, and sister, Sarah Belle Brown.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 19 at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20, at Waldensian Presbyterian Church in Monett with Pastor Vicki Evans and Rev. Chad Bennett officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
