The Monett Lady Cubs easily dispatched Southwest Monday night, overpowering the Ozark 7 school 61-29.
Monett limited the Lady Trojans to 8 points or less all four quarters of the game. The Lady Cubs led 33-14 at halftime and 50-22 going into the final quarter on their way to the lopsided 61-29 win.
A lot of Lady Cubs got into the scoring action with Jenny Frazier and Madison Carlin leading Monett with 17 and 15 points respectively. Other Lady Cub point-getters were: Hunter Glouse 6; Dedre Beckett 6; Amanda McKinney 5; Raigan Ratliff 3; Mackenzie Lay, 3; Jessica Schmidt 2; Danielle Neill 2; and Cheryl Barnes 2.
Kristie Ickes paced the Lady Trojans with 10 points.
The Monett girls will be back in action on Thursday night when they host East Newton in the Lady Cubs last game of the regular season.
The Lady Eagles earned another Ozark 7 Conference win by downing Wheaton 66-26.
The Lady Bulldogs never stood a chance as Purdy outscored them 25-6 in the second quarter to take a 38-13 lead by the time the half-time buzzer sounded. The Lady Eagles outscored Wheaton 28-13 in the last two quarters for the 66-26 final score.
Five Purdy players scored in double digits. Shelby White led the pack with 19 points followed by Audrey Patton with 14, Shelby Scott with 11 and Addy Roller with 10. Brooke Swadley contributed 8 points and Brittany Mareth added 2.
