Springfield-Springfield Livestock Marketing Center: Cow and Bull Auction Close for 2/15/10

Tuesday, February 16, 2010

Receipts: 482 Last Week: 312 Last Year: 390

Compared last Monday, slaughter cows sold 3.00-4.00 higher and slaughter
bulls sold 2.00-3.00 higher. Weather related conditions the last several
weeks have kept the supply of slaughter cows low and demand has risen in
response to those lower numbers. The offering included a moderate supply of
bred cows mostly in the 2nd and 3rd stage but cow/calf pairs were scarce.
The supply was light to moderate and demand very good for slaughter classes.
