Missouri Weekly Hay Summary - Week ending 02/12/2010

Winter showed it ulgy face in full force this week. Hazardous travel 
conditions put any deliveries off the beaten path out of question. Some 
areas of the state once again had tempatures of -10 and lower and wind 
chills of 25-30 below making life hard on man, beast and machine. 
Farmers are feeding large amounts of hay in this weather trying to 
maintain herd health in most cases lower quality hay that is abundant 
is being feed along with corn or some added form of energy. The supply 
of hay is heavy, demand moderate, and prices mostly steady. Missouri 
Department of Agriculture has a hay directory available for both buyers
