Pierce City girls trample Sarcoxie

The Pierce City girls kept their conference record unblemished with an 82-57 win over Sarcoxie on Monday night.

The Lady Eagles found themselves tied with Sarcoxie 15-15 at the end of the first quarter. Pierce City turned up the heat in the second and third stanzas to outscore Sarcoxie 51 to 25 to build their advantage to 66-40 going into the final quarter.

Pierce City was led by Kaelyn Osborn's 22 points and Taylor Mettlach's 20-point output. Others scoring for the Lady Eagles were: Rachel Miller, 14; Megan Golubski, 10; Abby Ashley, 9; Krishna Merriman, 3; and Beth Parrigon, 2.

In the jayvee contest, Pierce City again dominated for a 56-15 win.

The Lady Eagles will be in action tomorrow night when they travel to Jasper.
