A Mt. Vernon teenager died Monday evening in a one-vehicle crash a half mile east of Mt. Vernon on Interstate 44 in Lawrence County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Sean W. Saaf, 19, the driver, lost control of his vehicle, struck the median and overturned. Saaf, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle.
Saaf was pronounced dead at the scene by Lawrence County Coroner Scott Lakin. The wreck occurred at 8 p.m. Investigating the crash was Trooper Larry Ray.

|* A two-vehicle crash one mile south of Halltown on Highway O yesterday morning left two Halltown residents with moderate injuries. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, William J. Welch, 56, a passenger in a vehicle driven by Roger D. Barton, and April D. Spaulding, 21, both of Halltown, were transported to St. John's Hospital-Springfield after Spaulding's southbound vehicle failed to slow and rear ended a trash truck driven by Roger D. Barton, 56, of Halltown. Barton was not hurt in the crash, which occurred at 8:08 a.m. Welch was a passenger in the trash truck. Investigating the crash was Trooper Steve Jones.|
* A Golden man was injured yesterday evening in a one-vehicle crash three miles north of Golden in Barry County. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Paul M. Shepard, 24, sustained minor injuries and was taken to St. John's Hospital-Berryville, Ark. The wreck occurred at 7:15 p.m. when the southbound Ranger driven by Shepard skidded through an intersection, ran off the road and struck an embankment. Trooper Les Wilson investigated the crash.
