The Pierce City Lady Eagles finished third in the McAuley Catholic Warrior Classic by besting their hosts 52-23 on Saturday.
Pierce City led 10-7 at the end of the first quarter, and after holding the Lady Warriors scoreless in the second, the Lady Eagles went into the half-time locker room ahead 28-7.
It was more of the same in the final two frames as Pierce City outscored McAuley 24-16 to earn the 52-23 win.
The Lady Eagles had balanced scoring with Emily Ashley, Rachel Miller, Taylor Mettlach and Megan Golubski scoring 10, 9, 8 and 7 respectively. Others scoring for Pierce City were Kaelyn Osborn, 5; Abby Ashley, 4; and Mattie Parrigon, Brianna Zebert and Becca Hatfield, 3 each.
Miller was Pierce City's rebound leader with seven. Mettlach and Golubski added four boards each. Osborn dished out five assists and also led her team in steals with three.
McAuley's leading scorer was Sonya Kilongkilong with 17 points.
Following Saturday's victory, the Lady Eagles enjoy an overall record of 11-9 and are still undefeated in conference play with a 3-0 record.
