Verona split games with Thomas Jefferson on Friday night with the Lady Wildcats picking up a 77-24 win and the Verona boys losing 72-36.
In the girls game, Thomas Jefferson was limited to less than 10 points each quarter, including a 2-point third stanza, that led to Verona's easy victory.
Tristan Carrasquillo put in 29 points on the night while Jenna Chadd added 24, including four baskets from behind the three-point arc.
Others scoring for Verona were: Jessica Smith, 12; Beth Bigham, 6; and Taylor Pinkly, Jordyn Butler and Whitney Shue, 2 each.
Thomas Jefferson was led by Sally Currence's 12 points.
The boys game was a reverse of the girls match up. Thomas Jefferson limited Verona's scoring opportunities throughout the game. The Wildcats' highest scoring quarter was the third when they managed 12 points.
Wesley Kissinger was the Wildcats' leading scorer with 15 points, including four treys.
Others adding to Verona's point total were: Cody Ernsberger, 10; Ascension Estrada, 6; Seth Losack, 3; and Larry Patterson, 2.
