Mark Masur, age 79, of Lakewood, Colo., formerly of Carl Junction and Monett, passed away on Friday, Jan. 29, at Hospice of St. John's, in Lakewood, Colo.
He was born on Oct. 13, 1930, in Lake Andes, S.D. to Frank and Clara (Perlinski) Masur. He was united in marriage to Carolyn Moore on Sept. 16, 1954 in Verona and she survives.
Mark was employed by the Gas Service Company, of Monett, now Mo. Gas and Energy, for 37 years. He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, of Monett.
Mr. Masur was also survived by one son: Nick and wife, Kathy, of Broomfield, Colo., and their children: Matthew and Melissa Masur; three daughters: Patty and husband, Art Clement, of Carl Junction and their daughters, Lauren and Monica; Sandy and husband, Doug McCall, of Nevada and their children, Jordan, Kelsey and Nathan; Susan and husband, Michael Garoutte, of Carl Junction and their daughters, Audrey and Madeleine; two step-granddaughters: Cherie and Brian Hill, of Carl Junction and their children, Shayla, Trevor and Kynslee; Heather Clement and children, Kimberlin, Breanna and Brendon; one sister: Charlotte and husband, Bob Vogel, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Masur was preceded in death by his parents; one brother: Raleigh Masur; four sisters: Agnes Streeter, Margaret Varga, Georgine Strosnider and Teresa Berry.
Rosary will be at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 4, at St. Susanne's Catholic Church, in Mt. Vernon, with Father Pat Teter officiating. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. and the service will start at 11 a.m. with burial to follow at Summit Cemetery, located northeast of Mt. Vernon. Memorial donations can be made to Holt-International Children's Service.
Arrangements are under the care of Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home, of Monett.
