PC Lady Eagles down CH in tournament play

In round robin play at the McAuley Catholic Warrior Classic last night, the Pierce City girls soundly defeated College Heights 53-26. The Lady Eagles quickly displayed their dominance by jumping on top of College Heights 15-2 in the first quarter. Pierce City bookmarked the opening stanza with an equally solid fourth quarter, outscoring College Heights 13 to 2 to seal the win.

Taylor Mettlach paced the Lady Eagles with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Kaelyn Osburn also had a strong game with 12 points, four rebounds and a team-leading eight steals.

Other Pierce City contributors were: Rachel Miller, five rebounds and two steals; Abby Ashley, 8 points, three rebounds and two steals; Beth Parrigon, two rebounds, two assists and two steals; Megan Golubski, 8 points and three rebounds; Mattie Parrigon, 2 points; Emily Ashley, 4 points; Krishna Merriman, 3 points and four rebounds; and Brianna Zebert, 3 points.
