Purdy dominated Verona 61-30 for an Ozark 7 Conference win while the Pierce City Eagles fell to Greenfield 67-59 in boys basketball action last night.

Purdy's defense was stifling as the Wildcats were limited to 10 points or less in each of the game's four quarters. The Eagles of Purdy led 22-10 after the first quarter and 52-24 after the third on their way to the win.
Purdy was led by Landon Terry with 24 points and Cody Hall with 10. Others scoring for Purdy were: Drew Williams, 7; Alex Hayworth and TJ Farris, 5 each; Kevin Miller 4; and Garen Nelson and Riley Veith, 2 each.
Verona scorers were: Wesley Kissinger, 11; Cody Ernsberger, 8; Asencion Estrada, Nick Washam and Clifford Williams, 3 each; and Larry Patterson, 2.
Purdy's record now stands at 7-8 and Verona's is 1-14.
Verona is scheduled to play Wheaton in the Crane Tournament at 6 p.m. today. Purdy is set to host Southwest on Friday.
Pierce City vs.
Pierce City let a 36-28 halftime lead get away as Greenfield turned up the heat in the fourth quarter and outscored the Eagles 29-12 for the 67-59 victory.
Robert Baldwin tallied 29 points to lead Pierce City. Other Eagles scorers were: Wayne Jo Sooter, 12; Cedric O'Hara, 11; Cody Cox, 4; Chance Chapman, 2; and Cody Fitchpatrick, 1.
