Frances Addeline Martin, 96, of McDowell, passed away at her home at 12:50 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 27.
She was born on Dec. 5, 1913 in Cold Springs, Mo., to Robert and Irene (Barnard) Nall. She was united in marriage to Kenneth J. Martin in Raton, New Mexico on Feb. 3, 1936. They separated for eight years and divorced in 1958. They remarried on March 17, 1983 in McDowell and spent their remaining years together.
Frances is survived by three daughters: Donna Jo Dailey, of Cleburne, Texas, Dixie Walsh, of Trinidad, Colo., and Janet Heatherly, of McDowell; eight grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 44 great-great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, on Feb. 12, 2000; her parents; two sons: Francis Kenneth Martin and Robert Martin; two granddaughters: Colleen Debra Bowersox and Cathryn Dixie Bowersox; one great-grandson: Mathew Kevin Stewart; two brothers: Ronald Nall and Hugh Nall; five sisters: Bessie Hayden, Ruth Schnoor, Lorena Spencer, Maybell Honey and Josephine Williamson.
Frances was a homemaker and a long time member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and attended until her last few years where there became no local congregation to attend.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 31 at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 1 at the funeral home with burial to follow at Calton Cemetery.
