Missouri Weekly Hay Summary - Week ending 01/29/2010

Cattlemen are having a hard time feeding hay this week at most farms and 
ranches, as the warmer temperatures of the past week have left lots and pastures 
extremely muddy. The good news is that we are predicted to have colder 
temperatures the next few days that will allow the ruts to firm up. This week 
there was some small amounts of hay that made from the barn or hay pile to 
its’ final destination, a vast improvement over the last few weeks where 
delivery was nearly impossible. Hay prices are steady, demand moderate, and 
supply is heavy. Missouri Department of Agriculture has a hay directory
