Wanted: nominations for chamber awards

Monday, January 18, 2010

The Monett Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for its annual service awards, which will be presented at the chamber's annual banquet in March.

The Community Service Award, which has been presented since 1972, recognizes long-term service and a contribution having significant impact on the quality of life in Monett.

In 2009, Jerry Hall, co-founder of Jack Henry and Associates, received the award.

The chamber also gives its Pride and Progress Award to persons who make a notable contribution to the community, which can be of a shorter duration or in a specific undertaking. Special consideration is given for efforts contributing to community pride and progress.

Application forms are available at the chamber office at 200 E. Broadway and at The Monett Times office at 505 E. Broadway. Nominations can also be made by letter, detailing a brief history of the individual and a resume of achievements.

Nominations must be submitted by Feb. 16 and can be mailed to the chamber at PO Box 47, Monett MO 65708 or faxed to 417-235-4076.
