Veda Bonnie "Bon" Cook, age 95, of Monett, passed away at her home on Jan. 17, after a brief illness, with her family by her side.
Bon was born on June 21, 1914, near Southwest City, Mo., the daughter of the late Fay L. Cook and Nola Jones.
She was a homemaker and loved cooking and caring for her family. She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Monett where she was their pianist for 57 years, retiring at the age of 93.
Bon married Ralph Cook on Dec. 2, 1933, in Grove, Okla. and he preceded her in death on June 7, 1987.
Survivors include on son: Lee Cook, of Pierce City; two daughters: Margaret Roller, of Purdy, Ralpha Cook, of Monett; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren; one brother: Francis Jones, of Denver, Iowa. Veda was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and one sister.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 20 at Buchanan Funeral Home, of Monett. Funeral services for Bon Cook will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 21, at the Christ United Methodist Church in Monett with Dr. Dan Evans officiating. Interment will be in the Monett I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are being directed to the Christ United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
