Icy Roads Lead To Wrecks

Bad weather conditions were partly to blame for injuries in wrecks since Thursday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol issued the following reports.

A Purdy woman was hurt in a one-vehicle crash at 9:20 p.m. Friday five miles west of Monett on Highway 97 in Barry County.

Fedlia Osborn, 45, a passenger, sustained minor injuries and was taken to Cox Monett Hospital. The driver, William Osborn, 62, of Purdy, was not injured.

The wreck occurred when the southbound Ford driven by William Osborn slid on ice, went off the road and struck a tree.

Investigating the crash was Trooper Andy Ward.

A Butler man was injured in a two-vehicle wreck at 11:30 a.m. Friday a mile west of Purdy on Highway B in Barry County.

Dennis Walling, 45, a passenger, sustained minor injuries and was taken to Cox Monett Hospital.

Walling was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Adam Morris, 25, of Butler. Morris was not injured. The other driver, Shannon McClintock, 18, of Purdy, was also not injured.

The crash occurred when the northbound Chevrolet driven by McClintock was unable to stop on the icy roadway, pulled into the path of the eastbound Chevrolet driven by Morris and was struck.

Investigating the wreck was Trooper Tim Barrett.

Two people were hurt in a one-vehicle crash at 11:42 a.m. Friday on Highway 39 at Madry in Barry County.

Thomas Braun, 56, of Shell Knob, the driver, sustained moderate injuries. A passenger, Marian Braun, 63, of Shell Knob, sustained minor injuries. Both were taken to St. John's Hospital-Aurora.

The wreck occurred when the northbound GMC driven by Thomas Braun went off the road and overturned.

Investigating the crash was Trooper John Lueckenhoff.

A pedestrian was injured in a one-vehicle Barry County wreck at 12:50 p.m. Thursday in the parking lot of Jug and Plug in Shell Knob.

Mike Marcucci, 37, of Shell Knob, sustained minor injuries and was taken to St. John's Hospital-Cassville.

The crash occurred when the southbound Mercury driven by Heidrose Spellman, 48, of Shell Knob, jumped the curb and struck a beam on the building. The beam struck Marcucci.

Investigating the wreck was Trooper Ward.
