Junior Coker, 84, of Monett, Missouri passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2009, at Cox-Monett Hospital.
He was born on January 13, 1925 in Verona, MO., the son of Elijah and Ethel (Anderson) Coker. He was married to Vera Wormington on August 4, 1973 in Cassville, MO.
Junior was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Monett and was retired from Jumping-Jacks Shoe.
Junior is survived by his wife as well as one son: Norman Coker, of St. Louis, MO.; one step-son: Bruce Chandler, of Monett; one daughter: Cheryl Robinson, of the state of Texas; one step-daughter: Angela Madero, of Golden, MO.; one sister: Betty Hedding, of Fresno, Calif.; ten grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Junior was preceded in death by both his parents.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, December 21, 2009 at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Copley officiating. Burial will follow at Monett I.O.O.F.
