Thurman House, 76, of Monett, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 8, in his home.
He was born April 6, 1933, in Bokoshe, OK, the son of Walter and Leacy Mills House. He was a public school teacher and coach in Sperry, OK, a member of First Baptist Church in Monett, a veteran of the Korean War and a member of American Legion Post #91 in Monett.
He married Delorce Sumner on November 23, 1955, in Tahlequah, OK, and she survives.
Additional survivors include two sons: Bob House, of Garfield, AR, and Bill House and his wife, Carol, of Monett; one sister: Maxine Lanza, of Tahlequah, OK; four grandchildren: Justin House and his wife Amanda, of Pineville, MO, Kaala House, of Bentonville, AR, Billie House and Samantha House, of Monett; two great-grandchildren: Payton House and Jaxson House, of Pineville, MO.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 11, at Buchanan Funeral Home in Monett with Dr. Bill Cox officiating. Burial will be in the Monett IOOF Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Monett.
