According to officials with the Lawrence County Health Department, the flu shots will be available for individuals age 19 and older and no medical restrictions apply.
In addition, health department officials said receiving the flu shot is especially important for people who fall into the following groups:
* Individuals who are over the age of 50 years old.
| * Individuals with long-term health problems and weakened immune systems. | * Household members of people who are considered to be "at risk." |
The locations and dates for the clinics are:
* Tuesday, Dec. 8 at the Town & Country Supermarket located at 110 N. Elm in Pierce City from 8:30 to 10 a.m.
* Friday, Dec. 11 at the Lawrence County Health Department from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Children between the age of 6 months to 18 years may be eligible to receive the flu vaccine or FluMist at the Lawrence County Health Department on Tuesdays from 8 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 3:30 p.m.
The Lawrence County Health Department is located at 105 W. North St. in Mt. Vernon.
