Elizabeth Moore

Elizabeth "Irene" Moore, age 94, of Aurora, passed away at 4:45 p.m., on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at her home. She was born on March 9, 1915 in Aurora, Missouri the daughter of Joseph P. and Beatrice (Madry) Arend. Irene was a Monett High School graduate and a homemaker. She was a very active member of the First Presbyterian Church where she served as elder, and was a member of the Westminster Circle within the Presbyterian Church. She served on the Aurora Community Hospital Board, retiring from her position in 1989, and was a member of the Aurora Hospital Auxiliary and P.E.O Chapter JE. On January 10, 1933 she married Robert Leland Moore in Joplin, Missouri. He preceded her in death on July 5, 1973.

Those surviving her include, one daughter, Betty Arnaud and her husband, Victor of Monett; one son, Robert L. Moore of Springfield; daughter-in-law, Patty Viles-Moore of Springfield; brother, Jim Arend and his wife, Carolyn of Branson; sister-in-law, Claudine Arend-Cox of Springfield; six grandchildren, Cindy (Steve) Owens of Kansas City, Renee' (Brian) Fogle of Springfield, Kent (Margaret) Arnaud of Monett, Jennifer (Todd) McCrackin of Cassville, Mason Moore of Austin, Texas, and Megan Moore of Springfield; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Michael and David Owens, Andrew, Betsy and Ellen Fogle, Trent and Anna Arnaud, and Madry and Marianne McCrackin.

Her parents, two brothers, Max and Coleman Arend, and two sisters, Mildred Tucker and Katherine Thurman also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home with burial in the Maple Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm., on Friday, November 20 in the funeral home chapel. Memorial donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or St. John's Hospice in care of the funeral home.
