Pierce City and Aurora secured district football runner-up positions to advance to the state playoffs with victories last night.
In a Class 2A District 11 and Spring River Valley Conference game, the Pierce City Eagles took a 34-0 halftime lead enroute to beating Diamond 40-0.
The Eagles, 6-4 on the year, will face undefeated Warsaw on Wednesday at Warsaw to open state play.
Curtis Palmer scored three touchdowns, and Cody Cox added two TDs for Pierce City.
Aurora gained a playoff spot in Class 3A District 11 by beating Mt. Vernon 8-0 in the Big 8 Conference encounter.
Dustin Hedrick scored a touchdown for Aurora in the second quarter, and Jared Hickman added the two-point conversion run.
Aurora will travel to Cassville on Wednesday for the opening round state game.
Cassville won the Class 3A District 12 game over East Newton 42-0 to win the district title.
Trevor Tanner had three touchdowns and Joseph Gouvion added a pair of TDs for Cassville, which won the Big 8 Conference championship with a 7-0 record. Cassville is 9-1 on the year.
Lamar won the Class 2A District 11 title with a 49-9 triumph over Stockton.
Markell White had four touchdowns for Lamar.
Carl Junction, in a Class 4A District 12 contest, was no match for unbeaten Webb City, losing 54-0.
In a Class 1A District 3 game, Miller added to the state playoffs with a 35-0 victory over Marionville.
Tyler Hinshaw scored three touchdowns for Miller.
