Spooks and creatures will rise for a hauntingly good time in Monett once again this Halloween as the Monett Jaycees open their haunted house of the occasion on Friday, Oct. 23, for a two-weekend run.
The haunted house will be located on Dairy Street, across from Schreiber Foods and next to Unique Creations, beside Kelly Creek.
The Jaycees have isolated the other-worldly characters to two buildings. Guests will enter a maze set up in a 90 square foot room, then proceed into a second building with three other rooms. One of the rooms has been specially prepared by the Monett High School Band. Another is under the watchful eye of the Monett Rural Fire Department.
Opening at 6 p.m. nightly, the haunted house will be ready for business on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 23 and 24, and again on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Oct. 29 to Oct. 31.
Admission is $5 for children 13 and older, and $3 for children 12 and under.
According to a Jaycees spokesperson, the "kid friendly" hour will be from 6 to 7 p.m. The spookier spooks will emerge as the night progresses.
On Oct. 30, special music will be provided by Smitty's Tunes. Concessions will be available.
