Arhart Veith

Mr. Arhart Veith, 96, of Monett, Missouri, passed away Saturday, September 12, 2009, at Monett Health Care Center.

He was born May 13, 1913 in Hoberg, Missouri, the son of the late Louis and Louise (Rahmoeller) Veith. He was united in marriage to Louise Julia Weihe on September 4, 1947 in Mt. Vernon, Missouri, and she survives.

After graduating from Mt. Vernon High School, Arhart attended summer sessions at Joplin Junior College and the present Missouri State University. He taught in rural elementary schools in Lawrence County. Then from 1948 until his retirement in 1978 he was a field representative for the Monett Producers Creamery, which is now known as the Dairy Farmers of America. Arhart has been a member of the First United Methodist Church in Monett since 1948.

Along with his wife, he is survived by two daughters: Helen Tauchen and her husband, George, of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and Marilyn Lederer and her husband, Charles, of Leawood, Kansas; and by his grandchildren: Amelia Tauchen Marquet, Julie Lederer, and Robert Tauchen.

Along with his parents, Arhart was also preceded in death by two sisters, Alice and Eva Veith.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church in Monett with the Rev. Clif Crockett officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Cemetery north of Monett. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 15, 2009 from 6 till 7:30 p.m. at the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church or the Monett High School Veith College Scholarship for students in the Health Sciences, VFW or Loaves and Fishes in care of the funeral home.
