William T. "Bill" McDougall, 79, of Monett, Mo., passed away Friday, September 4, 2009, at his home in Monett.
|Mr. McDougall was born December 24, 1929, in Hoxie, Ark., the son of William Ira and Vera Ouida Murphy McDougall. He was retired as a purchasing agent from Jumping-Jacks Shoe Company in Monett after 45 years of service. He was an official for the Missouri Athletic Officials Association for 38 years where he was a rules interpreter for southwest Missouri football, a member of the First Baptist Church of Monett, a veteran of the Army National Guard and a member of the Monett American Legion Post.|
He married Edith L. "Sue" Ingle on June 15, 2002 in Monett, and she survives.
Additional survivors include one son, Ronnie Nelson, of Monett; four daughters, Linda Harris and husband, Mark, of Seneca, Mo., Debbie Hill, of St. Louis, Mo., Cheryl Ervi, of Waco, Texas, and Vickie Fertig and husband, Ken, of Monett; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Jerry Taylor and Bruce McDougall; one daughter, Janie Ingram; and one sister, Nancy Harvill.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at New Site Baptist Church in Monett with Rev. Aaron Weibel and Rev. Jimmy Copley officiating. Interment will be in Monett IOOF Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Buchanan Funeral Home in Monett.
