Mr. Robert Ratliff, 61, of Exeter, Missouri, formerly of Monett, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2009, at his home. He was born July 20, 1948 in Monett, Missouri, the son of Rex Eugene and Betty (Stufflebeam) Ratliff.
Robert was retired from EFCO Corp., where he worked for over 20 years and was night plant manager. In his early years he traveled and worked on the road. Robert lived a long life which included trail riding, camping and fishing with his sons, grandchildren and friends. He traveled many miles doing the things he loved and never met a stranger along with way. He always wanted to live his father's legacy which stated "A man without friends was a man without wealth." Robert truly was a rich man because he had many friends.
Robert is survived by his mother: Betty Ratliff; two sons: Rex and Sandy Ratliff, of Reeds, and Ryan Ratliff; his mother, Janell Ratliff, of Monett, and Heather Hendrickson, of Exeter; five grandchildren: Broc Ratliff, Rileigh Ratliff, Ashton Ratliff, Raigan Ratliff, and Blake Baker; one sister and brother-in-law: Martha and Jimmy Eubanks, of Aurora; cousins: John and Bobby Ratliff, Cody Stufflebeam and Dena Stufflebeam. Also surviving is his girlfriend, Chris Payne, and her son, Victor Payne, of Anderson.
Robert was preceded in death by his father, Rex Ratliff.
Visitation will be held from 6 till 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home, Monett. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Monett IOOF.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Robert Ratliff Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
