The power of Pluggy is coming to Monett. An animated robot created by the American Red Cross, Pluggy, at center, is now available for programs about fire safety.

According to Donna Jones, regional financial development officer for the Red Cross, who is pictured at left, Pluggy can effectively convey a message about what to do in case of a fire and how to properly prepare. The robot moves, talks, blinks its eyes and can spray water in making a presentation.

Jones said Pluggy can be scheduled for programs by calling 417-832-9500.
