Monettan Starts Internet Broadcasting Company

Wednesday, August 19, 2009

Monett native Mike McClure has started his own Internet broadcasting company, McClure Broadcasting, LLC., in celebration of 20 years of play-by-play sports coverage of Monett High School athletics.

McClure said he plans to broadcast approximately 70 Monett High School sporting events on his web sites: www.mcclurebroadcasting.net and www.mhscubs.com.

McClure's broadcast schedule will include a minimum of 10 football games, seven volleyball games, five softball games, five soccer games, two wrestling contests, 15 boys basketball games, 15 girls basketball games and 11 baseball games.

The fall broadcast schedule with dates and times is currently posted on www.mhscubs.com.

"Fans can listen live, or starting the day after the game, listen in the archived broadcast," said McClure. "The games will be archived on the web site for one year."

McClure Broadcasting, LLC, also offers fans attending the games at home or on the road in-venue FM broadcasting of the event on or near 87.9 FM.

"The signal strength is similar to attending a drive-in movie theatre and listening to the movie on your car radio," said McClure. "You have to be in close proximity to the game site to access this feature."

McClure has broadcast over 2,000 games on radio and television. He will continue his sports television coverage of Missouri State University football and baseball games for Mediacom in Springfield.

McClure's first broadcast on his web site will be Tuesday, Aug. 25 when Ash Grove visits Monett for a girls softball game.
