A Golden teenager drowned in Table Rock Lake on Saturday night while swimming in Owl Creek Cove near Eagle Rock.
According to the Missouri State Water Patrol, officers dragged the lake and retrieved the body of 17-year-old James Tracy, IV, in 25 feet of water.
Tracy was swimming when he complained he could not make it to shore. A friend grabbed his arm but could not hang ontoTracy, who slipped under the water.
The possible drowning was reported to the Water Patrol at 9:39 p.m., and Tracy's body was found at 10:40 p.m. The Water Patrol report indicated that Tracy was not wearing a personal flotation device.
Tracy's body was taken to Fohn's Funeral in Cassville. He was pronounced dead by Barry County Deputy Coroner Charles McManus.
