Patricia Todd, 70, of Verona, passed away Monday, Aug. 3, 2009, at St. John's Regional Health Center in Springfield, Mo., surrounded by her family. Pat (also known as "Mama") was born on July 1, 1939 to Eugene Calhoon and Mary Schaffer, of West Plains, Mo. Her mother still survives. She married Vann Todd on April 7, 1972. He survives, living in their home where they welcomed and loved their children, grandchildren and other members of the family.
She graduated from the Colorado Springs, Co. Business College in January, 1987, but her life-long ambition was to be the "glue" that held her family close. She kept in touch with her many nieces, nephews and other family members who lived away.
She is survived by her son, Brett Walters, of Verona; her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Allen Carr, of Verona; four grandchildren, Jeff Carr and his wife, Vicki, of Monett, Lindsay Carr, of Verona, Brad Walters and his fiancée, Dawn, of Verona, and Bailey Walters, of Verona; four great-grandchildren, Keegan, Kelton, and Kasen Carr, of Monett, and Blake Walters, of Verona.
Pat was preceded in death by two brothers, Gary Calhoon and Dick Calhoon. Her sister, Ruth Collins, of Dora, Mo.; and her brother, Orville Dean Calhoon, of Lawrence, Ks., still survive.
Pat leaves many other friends, including a special friend, Cathy Lochirco, of Aurora.
"Mama" will be terribly missed and we thank her for touching our lives in such a special way. We love you Mama!
A memorial service will be held at the Verona Baptist Church on Friday, Aug. 7, 2009 at 4 p.m. Pastor Lendall Morris will officiate under the direction of Peterson Funeral Home of Aurora.
