Thursday, July 30, 2009

Jacob Fair, who will be a sophomore this fall at Monett High School, has competed very well in golf this summer in Oklahoma events as well as at Poplar Bluff.

Fair competed in the Oklahoma Junior Golf Tour in the Oklahoma City and Tulsa areas.

He finished with a two-day total of 156, good enough for second place, at Claremore, Oka.

The second event was in Broken Arrow, Okla., where he had rounds of 78 and 74 for third place.

In the Battle for Broken Arrow, Fair finished second with rounds of 74 and 72, just two strokes from being champion.

At the East/West Open on two courses in Tulsa, Okla., Fair won the tourney by one stroke. He had a one-under-par 70 the first day and a three-over-par 75 the second day.

Fair participated in the Missouri Junior Amateur Championship in Poplar Bluff. The tourney had a field of 144 top junior golfers from around Missouri. Fair finished tied for 25th place with a six-over-par 148.
