Water Thrashers Take Third At Joplin

The Monett Water Thrashers swim team took third place among 12 teams competing last weekend in the Joplin Invitational. Monett had a team score of 603. Joplin won the meet with 1,122 1/2 points, and Siloam Springs was second with 635 points.

Ten members of the Monett team placed in the top three in their events.

First place finishers

Chloe Ridgeley in the girls 15-18 50-yard freestyle, 50-yard backstroke, 50-yard butterfly and 100-yard freestyle.

Courtney Cordova in the girls 13-14 50-yard breaststroke.

Maddy Glouse in the girls 11-12 200-yard individual medley, 50-yard breaststroke and 100-yard freestyle.

Tandi Glouse in the girls 15-18 50-yard breaststroke and 200-yard individual medley.

Carter Huffmaster in the boys 15-18 50-yard butterfly and 100-yard freestyle.

Second place finishers

Chloe Ridgley in the 200-yard freestyle.

Maddy Glouse in the 50-yard freestyle, 50-yard backstroke and 50-yard butterfly.

Phillip Roller in the boys 13-14 50-yard backstroke and 200-yard individual medley.

Carter Huffmaster in the boys 50-yard backstroke and 200-yard individual medley.

Matthew Bahl in the boys 6-and-under 50-yard butterfly.

Third place finishers

Carter Huffmaster in the boys 200-yard freestyle, 50-yard freestyle,

Reese Bounous in the boys 13-14 50-yard freestyle.

Josh Bahl in the boys 8-and-under 50-yard butterfly.

Tandi Glouse in the girls 100-yard freestyle.

Kirstin Racicot in the girls 15-18 50-yard breaststroke.

The Monett team will compete in the Carthage Invitational tomorrow and Sunday.
