Thaddeus A. Reynolds, age 81, of Wentworth, Mo., passed away suddenly on Thursday, June 25, 2009, at St. John's in Joplin. He was born on June 6, 1928, in Wentworth, Mo., to Lee and Fannie Reynolds.
He is survived by a wonderful wife of 57 years, Helen Buckhannan Reynolds; his sister, Wilma Hagebush, of Wentworth; and brother, Jerry Reynolds, of Copeland KS.; his children, Monta Heidlage and husband, Tom, of Wentworth; Donna Hopper and husband, Larry, of Kansas City, Tom Reynolds and wife, Leann, of Wentworth, Ronda Hatfield, and husband, Kevin, of Wentworth, and Dennis Reynolds, of Wentworth; his grandchildren, Jennifer Hopper, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Jeff Hatfield, Lee Reynolds, Danielle Hatfield, Sara Reynolds, Becca Hatfield, Heather Reynolds, Beth Reynolds, Hunter Hatfield, and Josh Reynolds, all of Wentworth Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Fannie Reynolds; his sisters, Arlena Carver, of Wentworth, Mary Ann Miller, of Wentworth, Viola Castle, of Pierce City, and Mildred Carver, of Pierce City.
Thadd was a lifetime farmer with his two sons on the family farmstead. He was involved with a number of community activities. Just a few to mention were ASCS/FSA member for decades, Pioneer Seeds sales representative for several years, and he served on the Pierce City School Board for 12 years in the capacity of president and treasurer. He also proudly served in the 203rd National Guard for 42years.
Thadd was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. Everyone will always remember him by his sense of humor and big kind heart. He will be deeply missed by all.
Contributions in lieu of flowers to the newly established Thadd A Reynolds Memorial FFA Fund at Pierce City High School. Contributions may be made payable to Pierce City R-VI and noted FFA and may be dropped off or mailed to Superintendent's office or mailed to the home or contributions may be made to Dry Valley Methodist Church and mailed or dropped off at the Church or mailed to the home.
The visitation will be held Sunday June 28, 2009, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City. Services will be held Monday, June 29, 2009, 10 a.m. Military burial immediately after at Pierce City Cemetery.
