Ruth E. Vogt, 89, of Washington, Mo., formerly of Monett, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2009, at Cedarcrest Manor in Washington, Mo.
Mrs. Vogt was born August 2, 1919, in Monett, Mo., the daughter of Walter and Frances Gaydou Derrington. She was a retired school teacher in the Monett School System. She loved to travel with her friends and family. She also enjoyed playing bingo, cards, and reading books.
She married Eugene "Jr." Vogt on May 20, 1948, and he preceded her in death on May 10, 1992.
Survivors include: one brother, Hoyt Derrington, of Monett, Mo.; one cousin, Neil Gaydou, of Carthage, Mo.; one sister-in-law, Diane Derrington, of St. Louis, Mo.; two brothers-in-law, Jim Vogt, of Omaha, Neb., and John Vogt, of Tulsa, Okla.; a host of nieces and nephews, and her many friends and neighbors in Florida.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Lawrence Derrington.
Funeral Mass will be 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church with Father Daniel Robles officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery near Monett, Mo. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2009, at Buchanan Funeral Home.
