Ava Terry

Mrs. Ava Lee Terry, 86, of Monett, Missouri a life long resident of Purdy passed away at 8:36 a.m., Monday, June 22, 2009 at her daughters home in Monett. She was born January 28, 1923 in Purdy, Missouri to the late John and Letha (Owens) McHolland. She was united in married to Leon James Terry on September 29, 1937 in Purdy, Mo. and he preceded her in death March 6, 1980.

Ava was a homemaker. She was a member of Arnhart Baptist Church in Purdy, Mo.

She is survived by three sons: Donald Leon Terry of Neosho, Mo., Johnny Terry and Kenny Terry both of Purdy, Mo.; four daughters: Patsy Boyd of Purdy, Mo., Jeannie Trogdon, Nancy Roller, and Jane Sisney all of Monett, Mo.; two sisters: Ina Mae Davis of Stockton, California, and Betty Harp of Purdy, Mo.; 19 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Ava was preceded in death by one son, Joe Lee Terry; one daughter, Shirley Allen; three brothers, Bob Rogers, Harlan Campbell, and Forrest Campbell; one granddaughter Karla Leanne Roller.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Arnhart Cemetery Association in care of the funeral home.
