Joseph Roscoe Patterson, November 27, 1949-May 7, 2009.
|Joe was born in Kansas City, Mo., on November 27, 1949 and remained in Missiouri for the next 25 years. He attended Oklahhoma Military Academy and then graduated from Monett High School in 1968. Joe spent the remainder of his life in southern Utah where he enjoyed the mountainous desert region. He was an avid camper and loved all forms of nature including geology and wildlife.|
As an uncle, Joe spent time with both his nieces and nephews teaching them how to appreciate and the importance of respecting nature. He also was a member of the NRA and took great pride in showing his nephews how to use a gun properly.
|Joe is survived by two sisters, Julie Austin of Libby, MT, Lucie Elwell of Monett and one brother, Bill Patterson of Shell Knob, MO., nephews Tait Austin, Dow and Rusty Douthitt, and Michael Patterson, two nieces, Miss Keely Austin and Holly Patterson.|
A private memorial service will be held in Kansas City, Missouri. In lieu of flowers we respectfully request donations be made in Joe's memory to your local animal shelter.
