Francis Eden

Francis Lucinda Eden went home to be with the Lord and prepare a beautiful place for her family and loved ones on Thursday, June 4, 2009. Lucinda was born December 16, 1946, the daughter of the late John Samuel and Lucy Mae Schaffer. She was united in marriage to Gary Eden on April 4, 1961, in Miami, Oklahoma, and he survives.

Lucinda worked at Thorco in Cassville, Missouri, before she was forced to retire due to illness. She was a member at New Site Baptist Church, Monett, Missouri.

Along with her husband, Lucinda is also survived by two sons: Larry Eden and wife, Susan, and James Eden and wife, Sheila, all of Monett, Mo.; one daughter: Lora Jarvis and husband, Carroll, of Purdy, Missouri; three sisters: Sybel Lloyd, Effie Rice and Lucy Waltrip, all of Monett, Missouri; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and countless other family and friends.

Lucinda along with her parents were also preceded in death by one brother, George Schaffer; and two sisters, Mary Waltrip and Dorothy Williams.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home, Monett, with Rev. Arnold Ray Evans officiating. Burial will be at Monett IOOF Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, June 8, 2009, from 6 till 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in care of the funeral home.
