Mr. Troy Lee Collins, 39, of Purdy, Missouri, passed away at 6:05 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, Missouri. He was born January 13, 1970, in Iola, Kansas, the son of Joe Allen and Patricia (Johnson) Collins. He was united in marriage to Angie Collins on July 15, 1989, in Biloxi, Mississippi, and she survives.
Troy was a welder. Troy and Angie were former owners of the Country Corner Convenience Store in Purdy. He served in the U.S. Navy in Operation Desert Storm.
Along with his wife and mother, he is survived by three sons: Clinton Collins, of Camp Pendleton, California, and Colten and Conner Collins, both of the home; and mother-in-law, Judy Collins, of Ottawa, Kansas.
Troy was preceded in death by his father, Joe Collins, in April 1999.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 8, 2009, 2 p.m. at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home, Monett, Missouri. Graveside service will be held Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at Ruhamah Cemetery, Rantaul, Kansas. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 7, 2009, from 2 till 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
