David Pozniak

David Pozniak, 57, Green Bay, passed away Sunday morning, May 31, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. The son of Earnest and Ruby (Brattin) Pozniak was born April 2, 1952 in Monett, MO. He earned a B.S. degree in Dairy Science from the University of Missouri and an M.B.A. from Drury University in Springfield, MO. David married Kathleen (Kathy) McCabe on August 2, 1975 in St. Louis, MO. David was President and Chief Executive Officer of Schreiber Foods and a member of Schreiber's Board of Directors.

David joined Schreiber in 1974 as Production Supervisor at the company's Carthage, MO., plant. He was named a Production Manager and then the Human Resources Director in 1978; Ingredient Sales Manager and then Director of Marketing in 1985; General Manager of International in 1992; Vice President of Purchasing in 1996; Senior Vice President-Global Trade and Development and a member of the Board of Directors in 1999; President and Chief Operating Officer- Global Trade and Development in 2001; and President and Chief Executive Officer in 2007. David acquired many friends all over the world during his career.

David was active in the dairy industry and civic affairs. He was an Executive Board Member for the U.S. Dairy Export Council and Board Member for the National Cheese Institute. On the civic front, he served on the Board of Directors of the YMCA, Curative Rehabilitation and Neighborhood Housing Services.

David had many interests. He always enjoyed spending time with his family, holidays in Missouri, woodworking and gardening, attending Mass, riding around on his John Deere tractors, golfing, kissing his grandbabies and Kathy's cooking. He founded the Threshold of Hope, which is a charitable foundation which feeds, clothes, and shelters the homeless around the world.

David had a tremendous faith which he shared with his family and all those around him. He was an active member of Resurrection Catholic Church. He also enjoyed attending daily Mass at St. Willebrord.

David is survived by his parents, Earnest and Ruby Pozniak; his loving wife Kathy, his children: Kylene (Justin) Puckett and their children Prestin, Alia and Braden, David Pozniak II, Regan Pozniak; Brothers and Sisters: Michael (Linda) Pozniak, Donna (Richard) Bottorf, Stephen Pozniak, Kevin Pozniak; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncle.

He was preceded in death by a niece, Kori Pozniak; maternal grandparents: Roy and Inez Brattin, paternal grandparents: Bartholomew and Ella Pozniak.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Pulaskifield. Interment in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Pulaskifield, MO.
