Area Seniors To Play In Lions Cage Games

The 30th annual Lions All-Star Twin Classic Basketball games are on tap for Saturday, June 6 at 6 p.m. at the Leggett & Platt Athletic Center on the Missouri Southern State University campus in Joplin.

The games feature a selection of outstanding seniors from an eight-county area of southwest Missouri.

The South girls team, coached by Exeter's Jason Cole, includes three members of the Lady Tigers state championship team: Whitney Edie, Kasie Scott and Katie Chadd. They will be joined by Chelsea Sneed, of Southwest, Carly Wallace, of Seneca, Jamie Shields, of McDonald County, and Kenzie Lauffer and Jamie Nash, both of Aurora.

Their opponent, the North squad, is coached by Liberal's Brandi Goodall and includes: Lorelei Snow, of Neosho; Rachel Brehm, of College Heights; Cheyenn Hill, of Thomas Jefferson; Mandi Dodson, of Liberal; Rochelle Wallen, of Lockwood; Emilea Pangenburg, of Marionville; and Kamber Cain and Tasha Francis, both of El Dorado Springs.

Cassville fans will get a good look at their new coach when Trenton Dickerson, formerly of Pierce City, takes the bench with the South boys team. Jared Fry and Dietrick Sooter, former players under Dickerson at Pierce City are on the squad.

Three Purdy Eagles made the roster: Mason Roller, Trent Trent Goetz and Blake Williams. They are joined by Kirk Moore, of Monett; Riley Brown and Clayton Miller of East Newton, Tyler Shaver, of McDonald County; and Alex Scott, of Seneca.

The North boys team is coached by Scott Morrison, of Hume. A trio of Aurora Houns highlight the roster: Ryan Carmichael, Chase Howerton and Kaleb Roy. Marionville's scoring leader, Brandon Verfurth, is also on the squad, joined by Ryan Austin and Cameron Hinton, both of Hume, Dylan Samuelson, of Carthage, Elijah Lasater, of Lockwood, Cole Williams, of Liberal, Remington Lehman, of Lamar, and Alanzo Gingerich, of El Dorado Christian.
