Hoping to improve on last year's 9-19 record, the Monett Post 91 American Legion team will take the field for the first time at 6 p.m. tomorrow at Aurora.
"We are going to have a lot of fun this summer, but we are also going to play hard every inning," said first-year manager Blaine Trout in his opening night of practice speech.
During the regular season, Monett will play doubleheaders except during tournaments. The first game will be seven innings and the second game will be five innings.
Coach Trout will be assisted by Darin Henderson, head baseball coach at Pierce City High School.
"We will work hard and concentrate on the little things that will make us better this season and help you in your high school play later on," said Coach Henderson.
Monett players on the Legion team this summer are Carlin Ballay, Jake Smith, Kennon Cox, Colten Phillips, Andy Hagedorn, Chris Trout, Jackson Burnside, Doug Aldridge and Marcus Enloe.
