Members of Hobbs-Anderson American Legion Post 91 this afternoon distributed more than 700 American flags to the graves of veterans in the Monett IOOF, Oakdale, Cox, Mt. Calvary and St. John's-McCormick cemeteries in and around Monett, to remember veterans for Memorial Day. Assisting in the flag distribution are members of Cub Scout Park 140.
Flags are also furnished for the Waldensian Cemetery. Additional flags are being placed at the entrance of the Monett IOOF Cemetery in case anyone was missed. The Legion also provides the flag display for the weekend at the entrance of the IOOF Cemetery and at the Grand Army of the Republic memorial at the Oakdale Cemetery.
The Legionnaires and Scouts will pick up the flags at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
